going 370 wasnt cheap but learned alot

I hear this thread! My self built 365 cost me over 2500 and I just honed the cylinders, no boring. Those 4k shortblocks ready to drop in did not look as high after I did it myself. I just love KNOWING when I stand on the throttle every possible precaution was taken and measured by the builder and no shortcuts or cheap parts were snuck in.

i replied SLOWEC QUESTION .WITH LAP TOP on the hood of my truck .moved lap top took my truck off my lift . after my weekly inspection of underneath .decided to go for a drive ,and the DAMN water pump started leaking .aint that some ****.another note i look at some those short blocks but i enjoyed putting mine together.

Yeah that's not bad at all. My 370 shortblock without cam and stock crank was quite a bit more.

my cam was not included .my machine shop cut me a little slack .since they machine so many parts for me.you save a lot putting it together your self .most shops charge 600-1000$ to assembly .with out a warranty

yep me too...my 370 has gone 9.40 and 150 mph on 17 psi and still tuning everything.

Would love to build one with my block and save money but never built an engine so id be lost.plus the cost of building engine and fuel and turbo upgrades would cost me a pretty penny lol
