Default Front seal and bolt

Were are you guys purchasing your bolt and front seals for the cam swaps. My local dealership does not have them in stock.

I thought it was odd, but I actually did get mine from the dealer in college station for like 5 bucks. I just used a bead of RTV for the gasket.

Just have them ship you the bolt, it will be much cheaper than driving. Beau has an extra bolt, maybe he'd be willing to sell/ship it to ya.

I didn't replace the timing cover seal, depending on the mileage and condition of the seal, you may be fine not replacing it.

BTW, most dealers can order parts and have them next day without shipping, you should ask the nearest dealer about that...

Yup, just get someone to ship you a bolt and reuse the front seal as long as you don't have a million miles on your engine.

Btw, I take it you got the cam ok?

Scoggin Dickey (sponsor) has a complete cam swap gasket kit that includes everything you need, crank bolt and all. I'm not a fan of re-using gaskets myself (except valve covers...I've had mine on and off quite a few times)...cheap insurance IMO.

hey thanks guys I ended up driving to the next dealer and getting the parts saturday morning. Got the cam installed same day. Yeah seal was still in good shape. This is the second cam swap into my truck so seal was fairly new. Now just need to drive up to nelson and get it retuned.
