I dont know if its totally necessary with Gen 3 engines being 6 bolt mains and all. If it helps you sleep at night, then go for it. I have one on my Gen 1 small block, but it sure as hell isn't a 6 bolt main.

Oh yeah, it looks like it could double as a nice crank scraper too! An added benefit for you high rpm guys.

I dont think I will get it but though I would bring it up to see what everbody though. I already order all my Arp studs and will have to order them again if I got the girdle.

Looks like a nice product, especially for high hp aluminum block applications.

I built my bottom end with a Arp stud kit and steel main caps,if that had been around I would probably have bought one.I say go for it.

I may buy it. I just got off the phone with the guy that sells it he said he would sell me the girdle for $350 and the ARP studs are $175. The reason Im considering it is because im working on my second motor. My first motors mains got pulled to the side .006" so if these will help that from happening again its worth the money.

I just talked to Eric@APE and he said its not really needed. Eric said it may work but the mains will need line honed with the Girdel because a girdle will sometimes pull the mains out of line. My blocks mains and the bores have already been honed so its not really worth it to have all that done again.

I was just about to bring that up, not to mention more $$$ for machining the caps, oil pickup extension, problems with exhaust clearance, leaks and definitely need the girdle along with torque plates bolted to the block prior to the hone.
