Dynamic Compression Ratio How much is to much?

Default Dynamic Compression Ratio How much is to much?

I think I may be a bit too high...
Shooting for a 93 octane on this engine.
The Static Compression is 12.14:1
The Dynamic is 9.5:1

Ive seen a few trucks on here running 12:1 with boost on top of that but they had a lower DCR.

Any opinions/ first hand experience?

Seems like I remember somewhere around 8.5:1 being the max recommended with 93. Maybe someone else will chime in to confirm.

correct. usually no one runs over 8.5 and thats still pushing it... what in the world are your cam specs??

Dynamic CR aside, why would you build a 12:1 static CR engine for 93 octane?

Whenever I have someone asking for a tune with a high compression engine like that and they are wanting to run pump gas, I always recommend dual tunes. Get some decent mileage on pump, hold back the timing (a lot) and don't beat on it too much. Then when you want to race, swap ECMs to a race gas or E85 tune and put it on kill mode.

The question would be much better asked on LS1tech. Personally, I would have built the motor 14:1 and run it on E85.
