I was curious of this and figured it out using the Wallace Racing Dynamic Compression calc from page 1 in the thread. Dynamic compression ratio of a stock LQ4 is 8.89:1. I used a 4" bore, 3.622" stroke, 6.098 rod length, 9.4 static compression, intake valve closes 34 deg ABDC, 0 boost pressure and 0 altitude (sea level).

The intake valve closing ABDC that I used was from Hot Rod magazine (NOV 2007) and is @.050" lift. I believe the information we need is @.006" lift. I don't have that number, so my calc above is inaccurate.

I found the intake closing ABDC @ 0.004" to be 87 degrees, which yields 6.06:1 dynamic compression. Thats exactly what GMCtrk said it was. "Down in the *******".

ya that is pretty low , i bet a fast ramp rate cam, even with more duration will yeild a higher dynamic. good info to know.

I googled "lq4 cam specs ABDC "
I found a Super Chevy magazine article with a complete list of cam specs.
