07 CHEVY 5.3 what letter in vin lets you know if enginge has d.o.d

 

Im not sure if the vin provides that but if it does it should be the 8th letter. But you can easily see it on the engine. Look under the intake manifold, if the valley cover has like a lot of dots and very uneven, it has d.o.d. if it is a even cover without dots or anything, it hasnt.
