I'm pretty sure they dint start putting the AFM/DOD in the 6.2 until 2010.

Depend on if it's in a truck or SUV.

The yukons got DoD but I'm pretty sure the silverado/sierra never got the DoD.

The easiest way to tell for sure is just look at the valley cover, if it looks like a maze of ridges it has AFM/DOD, if it's smooth you don't have it.

So it's just a VVT motor, I guess the other guy seems to be right as I read that the 6.2 turned flex fuel in 2009ish and was added DoD the following year and they called the motor a L94.

Though I find it funny that I've read articals that date back in 2007-2008 about how these new 6.2's came with AFM. Seems that the writers figured the new VVT was a sort of AFM. Or they thought it was exactly like the LS4 and the 5.3 DoD motors in the saab/envoy/trailblazers.

2012 GMC Sierra Denali w 6.2 here and no DoD. Seems to be a lot of misinformation on this topic around and Internet. I have been under the assumption that 6.2 for 07-13 never had DoD only 5.3 models.
