I thought the 6.0 had a longer stroke? Mabye it was the 4.8?...

edit: the 4.8 had a shorter stroke. but there is a wide flange and narrow flange 5.3/6.0 crank.

Only difference to my knowledge between the 4.8 and the 5.3 is stroke, which would mean different cranks between the two. The Bore is the same on the 4.8 and 5.3 AFASIK.

4.8 stroke is like 3.26". The 5.3/5.7/6.0 stroke is 3.6x" I think.

Sorry if this is off topic, but could you put a 5.3/5.7/6.0 crank in a 04 4.8L with a 5spd? I know that GM made a wide and narrow flange.

If you did I think you'd turn that 4.8 into a 5.3...change the rods though or you'll put the pistons through the heads I would think.

I like the idea of turning my 4.8L into a 5.7L. I wanted a forge crank, but I dont know if I have a narrow or wide flange.
