Default motor swap 4.8 to 6.0

I have a 2000 half ton, long wheel base truck with a 4.8 and will be swapping to a 6.0 soon. What exactly do i need to complete this swap besides a motor? Wire harness? Anything that i need that i may not know to buy please let me know. I am not building it to race, i am using it for towing my rv trailer. My 4.8 just isn't cutting it and i am trying to get away without buy a duramax even though i really want that.... thanks for the help....

all you need is the block, ALL the accessories from your 4.8 will bolt right up, make sure you got the flexplate from a 4l60e so your tranny can bolt right up....

x2 on the flexplate, what year 6.0 is it? you might have to keep your old intake mani for the brake booster vacuum fitting on the back

I just wrapped up the exact same swap on my truck. You won't need any major new parts but, depending on how complete your 6.0 is, you may need a few small parts off the 4.8, so I would recommend hanging on to it until you are done so you can cannibalize as necessary.

BTW you will love the difference.

Might upgrade to a 4l80 if your towing with the 6.0L.
