Comp Cams adjustable timing chain set.........question

Default Comp Cams adjustable timing chain set.........question

I recieved my Comp Cams adjustable single timing chain set today and I was wondering if I should upgrade the actual chain to like a JWIS or something.
I'm not all that excited about the chain that came in the kit, if it's comparable to an LS2 then I'm ok with it, the name on the side of it is Renold. It seems quite a few companies use Renold true roller chains.
Thoughts?

I dont see why you would need to upgrade. Buying a Comp Cam set is already an upgrade from stock.

grippy,
The chain that came with your kit looks good. If you want a known good high quality chain other than resorting to an LS2 chain, which is plenty strong as well, maybe give Katech a shout. I used to buy just their chains and sell them with GM gears... this was before the double setups came out for GENIII... here I go dating myself...

thanks guys, looks like cloyes uses the Renold tru roller chain on their timing sets as well, I think I am going to give Katech a shout just for piece of mind

I'm using a Compcams adjustable roller setup,after a years use and about 13,000 miles the chain had stretched enough that it was in need of replacement when I changed cams.I replaced it with another Compcams timing set.

I'm running the same timing set and it works great.

BTW, look at your cam sprocket. The Comp timing set is a Cloyes Hex-A-Just. It's stamped right on the gear.
