Anyway the cam got STUCK the same way this one did and I just had to show it who the boss was sorta speak. Give it a good wiggle and it will come out for you.
I went ahead and ordered the jpr cam tool. That way, when I get to it this weekend, I will have every possible scenario covered (hopefully)! I definitely DON'T want to go another week w/out my truck!

Thanks for the feedback!

Just spin the cam around a few times, the lifters should stay in the keeper, then pull the cam out. You have to be brave though. LOL

From the sounds of it, he has it good to go. If he is seeing lobes and hes hitting the back of the block with the dowels then hes home free IMO. Slide the bitch out. It does give a little resistance. Simply turn it as you are pulling it out.

Oh and another good way to see if the lifter is staying up:

Remove the dowels and have the stock cam in. Spin the cam and try to push down the pushrods. If it takes a little gumption to push down, then you are home free.

Thats what im thinking, Hes prolly hung up on the journal, wiggle it a little and hold it straight, she should pull out. Like he says the dowel is all the way in, then its not hung on a lifter, Especially if hes seeing lobes out the front of the block.
