cam swap not going so well.

on my last cam swap they just spinned the cam a few times and pulled it straight out and put the new one in!!! alot of people dont recommend it cause you can drop a lifter!!!

i love it when people say what they did and then say how it isnt recommended...makes me
whatever works though!! good luck i guess these are the reasons why i had a professional do it... or cuz im just a huge noob...just seems so difficult

Turned out my dowels would not make it all the way in due to them hitting the jurnal walls, I guess this is why they have a flat side to the one's they sale. Anyway the cam got STUCK the same way this one did and I just had to show it who the boss was sorta speak. Give it a good wiggle and it will come out for you.

From the sounds of it, he has it good to go. If he is seeing lobes and hes hitting the back of the block with the dowels then hes home free IMO. Slide the bitch out. It does give a little resistance. Simply turn it as you are pulling it out.

Oh and another good way to see if the lifter is staying up:
Remove the dowels and have the stock cam in. Spin the cam and try to push down the pushrods. If it takes a little gumption to push down, then you are home free.

Thats what im thinking, Hes prolly hung up on the journal, wiggle it a little and hold it straight, she should pull out. Like he says the dowel is all the way in, then its not hung on a lifter, Especially if hes seeing lobes out the front of the block.
