just curious to why you would say that. not trying to argue just curious to your statment. he has a built motor with compression around 11.1. which is Ideal for a ms4, he has a ls6 intake and true 3" duals. he needs more gear besides that he has a combo that will work and pull harder then most up top!!!

Now that you mentioned it...Been there?... Done that?... Why yes I have in fact! That same Sierra I was driving tonight made quick work of a Camaro SS with said MS4 cam and T56. After the race he caught up to me and we pulled into a local Wendy's to talk about our rides. He learned real quick that no matter how hard you try you just can't make a small CFM motor pull like a big CFM motor. I found him on one of the local MN forums a few months ago and last I read he was designing his own turbocharged 6.0L. At least he learned something.

now your saying a 454 is the answer? wonder why they dont make pigblocks anymore. you keep your pigblock, match ya with a equal smallblock and see how makes more power. now unless you have a full out race motor i doubt you beat a ms4 T56 car that is setup right. but without a video there is no proof of that arguement. point is look at dynographs, look at timeslips and see who runs what times.

Ms4 is a cam that gains 80hp in a stock 01-02 motor. his motor is a 00 now with stage 2 heads and ls6 intake. basically same as a 02 ls1 with little more compression and more head flow. its a proven setup. TSP even sells the ms4 with ls6s heads

I guess it would really come down to needing a specific HP number. If you don't need 500hp then you can reduce the cam and pick some up on the bottom end. If you need 500hp you need a cam big enough to make it (+heads, compression, ect.). It depends also on your prederence of converter, if you can live with 3600+ on the street, or would prefer a 3k.

I never said that.

What he does need though is more CFM, which he could get from a 454. Chances are it'll come from a turbocharger though. That way the motor wont have to rev so high.

Well I already have a 3600 that I intend to run. I was infact at one time running a 4000 in it but that was a little to much.

I dont need 500hp, I just want something I can take to the track on the weekends and pop off some low 12s maybe high 11s... but at the same time drive back and forth to work

for what he's looking for, his truck needs it's powerband to be mostly in the mid range for it to pull hard. his converter is plenty enough to take care of the bottom end. why have a cam that only pulls way up top when the aerodynamics have already taken over?

there is no need to explain myself anymore.
just stop reading all the hype and dyno #'s on ls1tech.
