Default Cam opinions

I just ordered this cam for my 2012 sierra denali with L9H 6.2 with bolt on's. I use my truck for towing light and that's pretty much it. I'm second guessing myself now and was wanting opinions on this cam. I will be retaining VVT and keeping stock stall and gears.
Cam specs are: 216/228 .544/.544 112+8

That should work good. Its going to make a ton of torque in the 6.2.

It will be good!

What about it made you second guess? If anything for a towing truck i may have gone a tad smaller believe it or not. VVT lets "small" cams pull insanely well up top. Less duration would increase part throttle power down low.

I imagine it would do the same work in a 6.0? Where did you get it with that kinda lift?

This is my first cam swap and I just wanted to hear some feedback. I was originally sent a cam spec with a lower exhaust duration and cam advance but I was told power would fall off fast. Thanks you guys for the feedback I’m still waiting on it show up with the ls3 springs. Cam specs cams from gpi and they seem very knowledgeable about VVT cams.

Default VVT Cam

I have the same L9H as you, I used a
210/224 .556/.568 114C/L Pac 1219 springs
it has a ton of low end and stills pulls hard upstairs
make sure you get the right phaser kit.

starting to sound like I made the right choice. Cam shipped yesterday I should have it in within the next few weeks.

Default VVT Cam

Make sure you find a tuner that knows how
to tune a VVT cam, they need to be tuned right.
or there dogs. The cam in your 6.2 is a good
little upgrade for a 5.3 VVT eng. sort of like an
old style cheater cam.

Black Bear will be tuning the truck since I don't have an awd dyno anywhere close and I'm not sure if it's even possible to pull the front driveshaft to make a few RWD pulls?
