Default Cam install

What I have

1. LS1 how to guide
2. VHP 08 "ultra tq" cam
3. VHP sping kit including springs and retainers
4. spring compressor with air pressure adapter to pressurize the cylinders
5. hardend pushrods

Since this is my summer DD I'm super nervous

Am I missing anything else... do I need lifters too?
How about a new crank bolt?
Gaskets?

Also how long should this take me... one day with two people perhaps?

- SDPC Gasket Kit w/new crank bolt
- Spring/Retainer locks (don't want your cam install to go on hold for a $0.03 part)
- Food, Gatorade, Water
- Icy hot/Tiger Balm
- Computer (so you can run to us with your problems)

don't waste your money on $70 worth of pen magnets. Just buy a 3" long piece of 5/16th's metal rod and cut it in half. Grind a groove all the way down both pieces and stick them in the cam journals. This will hold your lifters up.

We used this method to hold my lifters up for 2 straight days and didn't have a single problem.

Doesn't he need 16 though? As for the 70$ I think hes thinking of those platinum ones, not the gold ones, that autozone has for 3.99-5.99 lol, they are crazy expensive at autozone lol.
