Default Cam for 07 nbs 6.0 with L92 heads?

As stated-looking for a possible replacement for the stock cam. Truck runs 15.2 @ almost 93 mph, so it is indeed a turd down low. After 50mph it improves but throttle response is anemic, even with tq mangmt set to 0 with the dyno tune, and the cai/lt's/cat back.

It has the dod cam and with it disabled it picked up nothing but lost 1.5 mpg.

Does any cam co have something that can pump up the power, throttle response and not destroy the mpg?

The more power you want to make, the worse mileage you're going to get. That's the general rule. Keep your foot out of it if you want mileage.

You might just look at something with conservative specs and little overlap, but more valve lift. Probably a good place to start...

call/PM Pat G and tell him what you have, want and he will hook you up!

imo i would put a 3000 converter in it, that'll help a lot.

I have the stock stall and 3.73 gears. I tow a 7500lb trailer on occasion in the Az heat so a stall is not in my future.

if you pull that much, go with a torque cam that will work with your stock stall. that's a ton of weight damn.

Have you thought about 4.10 or 4.56 gears? They will help, you may even pick up some mileage pulling the trailer. Idk if you are running stock height tires, but pulling a trailer I am assuming you are, it really wouldn't be but around 500 more rpms on the highway going to a 4.56.

I've considered 4.10's, but the right cam might make it work better loaded or unloaded.

We know all about power vs mpg. I've had a tvs 1900 on here and not pleased with either. Had a 01 GMC C3 with a whipple blower and after the expense to get it figured out it gave up little in the mpg dept (unloaded) and gained a bunch in the power dept. I've got where I prefer a n/a setup though.

it's those big square-port heads making it so unresponsive. gears will help but really only mask the engine's lack in performance. cubes probably aren't an option for a while so i'd start shopping for a cam. i'd go with iamkeniff's suggestion
