Default building the bottom end

so i wanna stay with a stock stroke so i should be ok with the stock crank i think there good up 2 a thousand hp or so the ls1tech guys say

new rods-----------------------------new pistons
should be enough to spray a whole lot?????
also i have a short block and the crank is in it i was gonna use that crank and bore the block 3.905 or close
but the crank has slight rust beginning not much just a film starting can i stop it and remove it

Crank and rods are good to ? Pistons can handle 300 shot for awhile the weakness on lsx' are the rod bolts put good rod bolts and spray away!!!
On the rust, if scotchbrite will take it away then your OK!

well its not on the bearing surfaces idt because the other rods are still attached to it and its still in the block....
what is like the biggest shot a 5.3 bored to 5.7 can handle with new rods and pistons and stock crank
