Broken Tensioner

what should i do now i called the workshop told them to stop working on it.. i have the LS2 style wedge tensioner but he mechanic told me the chain is looser than having the same one installed..

The LS2 style unit is a guide and not a tensioner like the piece that was in your truck, so it stands to reason that the chain will be just as loose as if nothing was installed at all. The benefit of the guide is that it will extend chain life by controlling the amount of whipping the chain goes through while running. I would have the LS2 wedge shaped guide installed and not look back, as there are entirely too many failures with the factory GM tensioner in performance applications.
