Default Blower cams !!!

Aight guys another cam thread haha!!!

My question, what cams are you blower guys running?

I see GT-2's , vinci trucker, ect.....

Heres where im at.

I had my current 226-224 cam custom ground as i was going to do a front mount turbo last year, Then i bought my blower.

So i just decided to run the turbo cam, I LOVE the sound of it, awesome chop.

But i know running more exhaust duration would be better.

She runs DAMN STRONG on the street and is a blast to drive.

The last two trips to the track ive only been able to muster a 12.82 @ 107.77 MPH.

Ive tried increasing timing with no avail. I WANT LOW 12's and eventually an 11.9x!!!!

I see peak boost 9.5 -10#'s , I was thinking about throwing more boost and meth at her, but am i going backwards not using a blower spec cam????

If i get a better suited blower cam, is it possible to pick up .4-.5 in the 1/4???

I really dont want to lose my chop either , but will if i can pick up some good e.t.

THOUGHTS???????

What's the lift on that cam? I see the LSA on your sig. Something seems off with the setup somewhere. 12.82 at 107 vs my 12.37 at 104, puts you a half second slower, but 3 mph faster. Granted, my truck fell on it's face in 3rd gear(working on that still.)

What's your 60 ft, and 1/8th times & mph?

.584 .581 lift.

8.2 in the 1/8 84 mph

1.8 60ft brake stalling

Yeah for sure something is amiss in my setup for some reason? Im not sure but am leaning towards cam choice.

Your truck keeps popping up in my head actually Roger, You have a 5.3, less boost and had stock exhaust and ran quicker ET than me.

I have MPH for low 12's, dunno why my ET sucks??
.
BTW my truck does feel a bit weak after the shift into third gear also

Goddam, on stock heads??

Tim, you definately need a cam with a split that favors exhaust. Lemme put some thought into this.

I have a 228/236 .551/.551 116 with Crane 1.8 roller rockers in my 383 and it simply hauls ***! I'm just about done my break-in and hope to get to the track next weekend for some vids. Vinci ground the cam to my specs. I'm a fan of the exhaust duration being longer in boost cams since the charge is packed in so tightly... gives more time to get it all out. Big exhaust valves would probably help, too. Wish I had 1.60's. I'm getting 9lbs of boost, exactly what I was hoping for. The torque is exhilarating.

Thanks Roger, appreciate the advise.

I just want o make sure the cam is the part of the combo that needs attention before throwing boost and meth to her.
