I've removed, replaced, and/or re-installed a gazillion overhead cams on Toyotas, but never replaced one with a performance cam. If your engine is set up anything like the Toyota's, seems like the hardest part will be setting valve lash. The Toyota uses cam followers that sit on top of the valves and have buckets that require different size shims to adjust the valves. It can be a real tedious procedure.
Whoever does the work should definitely have the proper literature handy when the time comes...these foreign engines have little tricks that if not done properly, can lead to long dollar repairs. Such as bolting/unbolting the Toy cams in the right sequence...if this is done wrong, either the cam can crack or the head could sustain damage. There are usually tricks for the cam gears and VVT controllers (if equipped)
