I used the same tool but, I used a leak down tester to keep the valves up..

The cam and springs will be done on the engine stand before the 6.0 goes in...so I'm not worried about clearance on the rear cylinders. What does that crane tool run?

The crane tool is expensive - like $100, but it is such a breeze to swap springs with it. Fast too.

Colby, I use a tool like the one you posted. It works fine, but is more time comsuming than the others. But you can get them much cheaper. I think mine was like $15. Plus, you can usually get a loaner from Auto Zone etc.
