Just so everyone knows, the runners of the Marine intake are 8" long, the TPI runners are 21-25.3" long depending on where you measure them from, the LT1 has 4" runners, teh LS1 has 14" runners.
And teh Marine intake can be bought for $750US with injectors, GM colour coded wires, throttle body gaskets, well everything but fuel lines to install the intake. I can get a Ramjet manifold for $899Canadian, and thats with an emplyoee discount, but thats only for the bare manifold, no TB, injectors or anything.

Here is teh Marine intake thread

The very 1st picture is what comes for the $750US, you get evrythinbg pictured except the marine air breather, lots of extra parts.

the supercjarger guys are saying that they are having off the chart hp and torque gains. 1 guy has busted a motor mount with a Whipple.

peace

BTW I did not realize how cheap the marine intake was. Nice deal.

hellbents10....

Where are you located, are you related to Jim Hass??
Not that it's any of my business, just curious if you were from down here?

Now to my reason for posting, I got lost in the conversation about the Ram Jet. I had looked at this set up before and liked it, most likely because it just feels right for the application I had in mind. Now that you've played with it, what's your thinking about using this intake with a turbo set up? What does the inside look like and how is air disbursement to each cylinder, were you able to tell when you removed your upper and heads?

Has anyone with this setup been able to post actual numbers? No doubt it would have to be a big gain over the stock application.

What's your take on the blow down verses blow through? I was kinda hoping that hellbents10 would be able to shed a little light on this. I was curious if he had any problems with the front cylinders running lean. Although boost may make a big difference. Cost wise your setup is outstanding, good idea...

Yes there is...I have a friend who has one and it laid down 292 rwhp and almost 400 ft lbs of tq with a Wester's tune, muffler back, and shorty headers running through 4x4 drivetrain. I was impressed. He will get well above 300rwhp and 400ft lbs when he puts some 2 1/2 inch intermediate pipe on it and high flow cats with electric fans. The intermediate pipe now is like 1 7/8".....ouch!!!

Its a nice idea though would be pretty cool on a really mild low rpm setup.
Well you don't have to keep it stock...there is always the SuperRam option or the new Vortec HSR system. I have a HSR on my 383 and love it!!

The vortec HSR is the same thing as the stealth ram except for vortec heads. You can read up on this at www.stealthram.com. The HSR is know for the mid range and upper power band. Each runner flows 275cfm. So, there's a lot of room for high performance applications.
