Default 408 or 418ci

what would be the best for a 5400lbs. truck as a not a every day driver but a weekend toy. the 05 half ton crew still has a 5.3 with a cam making 296rwhp. i have a friend that has a 408 for sell. yall might know him. it is tha same motor out of the 10.94 gmc c3. but he as a new 418 that i could buy and play with. what do yall think

ps. the nitrous will be used

whats the price diff between the two. he sprayed the **** out of that 408 so you would need to tear it down and put new rings in it for sure. I am building a 418 for my truck jsut to not have a 408 so you should get the 408 cause I want to be the only one with a 418

the 408 i can get for 5,000 or so. it as been refresh and is ready to go. it can and has took a 500 shot direct port. the 418 is ready for cam and heads. low comp.

i was thinking of boosting tha 5.3 but what ever type i look at was going to be around 4500 to 6000$$ and get some were around 450 rwhp. tha 408 put down 586 to tha black top.

it is a turn key motor. every think but tha direct port. that price is a friend to friend price. that is y it is not 7 or 8000. but after i chose one tha trany is not going to hold. he used a turbo 350 and let the wires hang

im think of tha same but i will cross that brige with i get there.

u think that 418 would make 500 rwhp. if so that would be nasty in a 05 crew cab. it would sound like a pro mod at a stop light

Hey 05crew where are you located? I seem to recall that c3 being from NC.
