hey guys im gonna start saving up for a 6.0L/4l80e swap into the blazer- i was wondering what is needed internally for a 6.0L to handle 700whp of boost - got a couple ideas im playing around with

 

It depends on how long you want it to stay together.The stock pistons would be the first things to break.You'll need stronger rod bolts and it wouldn't hurt to balance the rotating assembly.

 

i just destroyed a stock 6.0l and i was pushign close to 800 hp accordign to my injector flow. so id say forged bottom end should be gettign you there.

 

Minimum in my mind would be "boost" pistons, "boost" rings, rods, rod bolts, main studs, head studs.

I would personally buy a crank too, for safety (e.g.don't need to pull the motor again kind of safety)

 

i was thinking- JE 8.5:1 pistons, Boost rings, probe Rods, and scat 4340 forged steel crank, 6-bolt mains, all balanced, ARP rods bolts, ARP main studs, ARP head studs

with some ported LS6 heads, and boost cam-


where do most of yall get your parts from- im gonna build this my self and put in the blazer my self

 

why ls6 heads? Isnt that gonna boost your compression too much? P&P 317's?

Just go ahead and forge the whole thing. Maybe a forged 370?

 

dont have the money- its gonna be a year or two before i get everything done- i was hoping to use ls6 heads if i can get the compression down low enough with the JE pistons, 317's are off of a what? i might just do alot of work to teh stock ones.

 

317 are stock 6L heads

317's flow the same the ls6 heads do. Just diff cc chambers.

 

o okay- would the scat 4340 forged steel crank be reliable under that kinda power- also where do yall get your parts for the bottom end?
