Default 7.5 pushrods

Hello, so today i installed my new heads that are ported and polished 862. My old ones were the 706 that were cracked. I also installed some pac1218 springs with felpro headgasket. I also put in a texas speed stage 2 truck cam 212-218 .600 112lsa. Ive measured my pushrod length both exhaust and intake and i get 13 turns with the pushrod checker which starts at 6.8 plus 13 turns at .050 each turn puts me at 7.45 before preload and after .050 preload it puts me around 7.5. Does that seem good? Ive tried it both hand tight and torqued down to 22ftlb and it stays the same. I installed the old pushrods and they are waaay to loose. So they arent the stock length thats forsure. Truck is a 04 silverado 5.3.

One turn is .078" preload. You should have between 1 and 1.25 turns after the pushrod slack is picked up. I, too, read all over the internet that 1 turn is .050". Check this thread out....

He may have been referring to one turn on the pushrod tool equals .050
Needs more info on the lifters for preload. Most likely LS7's...
with the slim chance they are Morel drop in's...
the preload is around 0.040 using an iron block.

he's referring to each turn of the comp pushrod length checking tool, not 1 turn of the rocker bolt after finding zero lash.
