Default Rocker arm bolts peaking into intake runner

My 370 is almost done and I went to check it out yesterday because they told me there was an issue with the rocker arm bolts. These are stock rockers and bolts with CHE trunion in PRC 220cc CNC heads, I never noticed this before but obviously its a bit of an obstruction.

Anyone else have this issue?

Its happened on ported heads before. Shorter 10.9 bolt (8x1.25 I am pretty sure) and thread sealant and you're good to go. Wouldn't lose sleep over it

That's the plan just hadn't seen any reports of this. Kinda figured TSP would have some sort of warning about it, then again most people are probably smart enough to notice it on their own........ . . ... . . .. .... . . .. . .. . . . ... .............. .

Common issue on ported heads.

If you don't seal it with thread sealent, oil will seep in causing you to use oil.

LS1Tech forums is filled with this exact issue.

I guess I don't go over there enough, I always use RTV as my book tells me to do. Just surprised I haven't run across this before.

Yeah, seen this before. Worse is aftermarket intake manifold bolts poking through and contacting the pushrods. Depending on rocker arm position, you may not even notice it when putting the bolts in. But they can grind against the pushrods as they move through their range of travel.

Had the same thing on a set of early ported AFR 230's I had purchased as well as the same reaction lol. Like what the hell is this. As mentioned, shorter bolts, sealant, run it.

Common on ported heads. I just removed the roughly 1/4” nipple at the end that isn’t threaded so it didn’t hang into the airflow. Does it help, idk but I feel better. Lol

and as mentioned make sure you seal the threads in those bolts

Hell I'd just grind/cut them shorter myself.
