Default 6.2 heads on a 2500 6.0

If I want to put ls3 heads on my 04 2500 with the 6.0. Which intake will be best? Can I use a 08+ escalade intake and fuel rails? Also any idea which injectors I should use, preferably ones that will just plug in without adapters. Thanks

Yes an intake from a 07+ escalade would work great. Thats the same intake that all L92 head 6.0/6.2's use.

Are you planning a cam at the same time?

+1 I would add a good cam in there as well to take advantage of the extra flow you will get with the head swap.

Yeah I'd definitely do a cam too. I'll have to research once I for sure get the heads. Will a stock throttle body work as well too?

Stock will work but you will need an adapter. The stock 78mm tb is a 3 bolt, and the 87mm TB's that come on gen IV engines are a 4 bolt.

Honestly there are better options out there for heads in that truck. Don't get me wrong the L92's are bad ***, but they have huge ports and flow big numbers. You will lose some bottom end with them. If you plan to get a decent size cam and stall this becomes less of a concern, but in a heavy 2500HD I think there may be better choices. Especially since the Heads really like the larger bore of the 6.2 so the intake valve isnt so crowded.

Hmmm. Ok. I could just do some ported 243s and save a lot of hassle. I'll do some research

If you want a good comparo of that, go drive a 2007 and newer 2500HD. Find a tuned one even if you want..... The L92's give up a good deal of low end for mid range and top end power.... which is so useful in a 3/4 ton truck, lol. Empty is okay... but load it and you really see them start to struggle. I mean why do you think GM decided to use an automatic transmission that has a 4.02:1 first gear in it. I'm sure someone will tell you I am wrong and use their regular cab short box 2wd half ton as an equal comparison..... lol.

Great heads, but so are a decent set of cathedrals.

Couldnt have said it much better. The 243's will give you an edge in compression as well which will make it feel a lot stronger in part throttle. Chances are you will actually gain gas mileage by going to a 243 head.

The compression makes the biggest difference down low and in part throttle, while the increased air flow will help up top. You will gain right off idle all the way to redline.
