I once gave a 4.8 crank away just to give it a good home.

That looks like a 4.8L with the flat top pistons. A 5.3L would have a dish piston.
Pull the pan and the windage tray and look at the casting number on the crank.
12553482 is used exclusively on a 4.8L with a 3.268 stroke Corrected for your pleasure...😉
12552216 is a 5.3L or other LS V8 with the 3.622 stroke
