I am building a 5.3 and putting it in a 95 camaro. I have a set of ported and polished 243 heads I am going to put on it. Trying to figure out what kind of numbers I could have without replacing the pistons. I am going to go with new rod bolts, rings, and bearings. Going with a Victor Jr intake with 60# injectors. Using a TH350 with about a 3K stall. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

 

Going with the 243 heads will lower the compression from the stock 706 heads. You can have them milled to make up the difference. But will need to change pushrods. What numbers are you looking for? Horsepower? Compression?

 

Yeah, i'm wanting lower compression that's why I decided to go with the 243's. I'm just trying to get some Ideas on a power output with about 10-15#'s of boost. trying to see if it is possible to get about 600 rwhp with this set up.
Any ideas?

 

The 706/862 heads on a 5.3 have 9.5:1 compression which is perfect for boost
