Just got off the phone with him and he told me $350 for one. And he is a hella nice guy. Like I said I am have one of their converts in the th400 that came out of my blazer and it was less than $300. Tell him Kade from Centre, AL sent you if you call.

Has anyone heard something about the reluctor rings be different on the 5.3 crank and the 4.8 crank?

I'm currently trying to convert a 4.8 into a 5.3 for a customer, and I keep hearing something about this reluctor ring. Or crank sensor ring, something with that. Can anyone shed some light on this?

i am not sure but i think it has got to do with newer motors.
as long as the rings look the same use it.

They changed in 2004 for the 6.0 I believe, but I don't think it changed for the 4.8 and 5.3. What year is the engine you are working on, and what year is the crank you are installing?

The 4.8 is out of a 99 silverado. We're not sure exactly what crank we might use yet, because we're still figuring out to see how much extra work is going to be caused by switching in the new crank and rods from a 5.3.

Do you know if we'll have to reflash the computer? Because I'd understand that, and something about different injectors? Are they different from the 4.8 to the 5.3?

You should be able to use the stock injectors, I think they are all 25.something lb/hrs.

If you are switching out with a complete rotating setup from a 5.3 it's a straight up swap (new rings and bearings of course) but if the parts are all out of the same 5.3 it should be just a part swap, no balancing required. There should be no machine work aside from re-honing the cylinders which you can do yourself.

How would the thing run if I just used the 5.3 crank, ls1 rods, tr220, ls1 manifolds (they fit in a 67 c10 perfect) no cats, duals, air intake, e fans, and tune? Would a trailblazer converter work with a tr220? I bought a crank and rods. This is going in a daily driver now and not the blazer. I want to put a procharged LQ4 in the blazer.

your setup sounds good so far. I agree with everyone...

btw running the TB backwards on GM's is used mostly in offroading ive seen in a rear mounted car. The guys who are putting LS motors in their desert and sand cars turn them around so that it's facing the best position

That is what the 4.8 motor is going in.

I want to put a procharged 6.0 in the blazer and a 4l80e.

They aren't 99 and up chevy's but they are my projects.
