Default 4.8 pistons on 5.3 rods

i know people have done the math but, has anyone actually tried to put a 4.8 piston on a 5.3 rod? im about to have a 4.8 laying around and i have a 5.3 rotating assembly and was curious if anyone has tried it? if not i guess ill find out later than sooner....

isn't that going to just result in a flat-top piston 5.3?? ie, that L33 all aluminum 5.3 H.O. engine, or whatever it's called??

Yes, It has been posted on here that the 4.8 piston and the L33 5.3 piston are the same part number...

im gonna do it. to some it may sound stupid and when you have all the parts laying around the garage after 2 engine builds i figured why not try it. i guess ill build a flat top 5.3 after i build this iron 5.7. whatever keeps me busy and keeps me from pissing off the prego wife is good.

whats the just about? to answer your question, in theory yes......itll be iron block though.

whats the compression ratio on the L33s? regular 5.3s is 9.5:1 right?

it has been stated that they are not in different locations. i am searching right now to see if the pistons are indeed the same part number between the l33 and 4.8. i did find this but, it ends in a pissing match and nothing gets resolved. it starts on post 10.
