Default 4/7 swap

Im looking to find a part number for a 4/7 swap cam, and a good set of underdrive pullies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I figure that should help wake up the little 4.8 I have in my 01 ecsb.

you dont need a 4/7swap cam for the gen III motors, that would be for the old style sbc... I have a 224 in my 4.8, but i would get a tr220 or a 216/220. especlly with you having a lifted truck...

4/7 swap has already been taken care of on your engine.

Gen I and Gen II SBC's had firing orders of 18436572. When the Gen III was redesigned they swaped the 4 and 7 in the firing order in order to improve harmonics and reduce vibrations, which in turn makes more power. So the new firing order becomes 18736542.

They make cams for the older SBC's and BBC's that use the Gen III firing order for the reasons stated above.

Default 4/7 swap

how well would the 216/220 cam and a 5.3 crank do? I have a guy that does tunes for our shop that will tune it later or I can run the super chip I have. Ive seen the super chip used with cammed motors and they got respectable power out of it. What do you all think? Im looking for more torque, hp is nice but Im building a fullsize barely legal trail truck. Also any p#s for a good set of pullies?

believe me, the superchips programmer will pull embarassing numbers compared to what a custom tune can do. The difference between a superchips and a custom tune is very great especially with a cammed motor.
I'll put it this way: I raced my buddy who has a superchips, efans, headers, intake, exhaust, g80 and 4.10's. I had the exact same truck but 3.42's, open differential, EFI Live custom tune, exhaust and intake and I would be dead even with him. He had better gears, traction and more bolt ons but that custom tune will really make a difference.
