getting the heads this week. we are having them milled .016 to straightn them up and bump the cr a lil. the motor is closed up now minus the heads. ill get some pics up soon.

Im glad I found this, may be something I wind up doing before too long.
Don't forget the radiator hoses, fuel/evap lines, a/c compressor, a/c hoses, various other belt drive accessories, etc.
It seems like a decent build, but I was figuring more in the range of $4K or so for my planned build, but im glad to see that it can be done cheaper. Keep the pics/info coming

Looking real good. I am at the exact same stage with my 5.7L as well. Just finished up paint and heads are finally on. Keep up the good progress!

still waiting on the damn heads!! these guys are taking forever. ill get more photos when they finally decide to give my heads back.

no, i didnt forget it. the gears were just sitting on there at that point. its closed up now.

$150 for bore and hone. yeah i got the heads yesterday but, i need the damn dowells that go into the block and cant find them. anyone got a part number for them???
