Yes, you will need an LS2 timing gear and front cover (including adaptor/extension harness). Be sure to order a cam sprocket that will fit a 2005 Corvette. It is the "old" LS2 style and is compatible with engines still running the "old" 24x reluctor wheel on the crank. Below is a pic of 2 cam sprockets. The sprocket on the right is the new "corporate" 4x trigger sprocket that comes standard in the LS7 and I believe started coming in LS2's (C6) towards the end of 2005 (2006 production year). The sprocket on the left is a 1x trigger and is the sprocket you will need. Sorry, I forgot the part number If you wanted to consider double roller I think the "old" style LS2 timing chain kits are now available...

Regarding the knock sensors... you can reuse the ones you have in the LS2 (tapping both sides of block) location with an extension harness readily available through several different manu's...

Yup, your truck pan will fit just fine. You will reuse your windage tray and oil pickup tube. Note that if you stroke the motor you will need to shim the windage tray down a little to keep the rods from hitting it. Some folks just "manipulate" (hammer, grinder, etc) the tray.

update, started to go through with this, here is the set up , im using eagle rods, probe pistons( not sure which exact ones yet. all arp studs, stock crank, 6.0 cast iron block .030 over. Now here is what im ahving a hard time deceiding, i can do the p&p cnc'ed 317 heads or do the l92 heads and intake. the l92s being slightly less expensive but i will also have to get the l92 truck intake which will cost more. But i know for a blown setup perfect heads arent 100% necessary. So what do you guys think i should do??

well the l92 definately flow better than p&p 317's, will these heads have the exact same dimensions? will there be any problems mounting the blower if they arent the same size??any info is appreciated. does anyone know how the stock valves on the l92 are?? ill probably get them assembled if anything, what lift are the springs good for? are they interchangeable with comp 918springs?

Consensus is L92's have the same exterior dimensions for bolting up accessory drive hardware. The L92's chamber is FAR superior to the 6L 317 casting chamber. If you have pics of both you will see what I mean... then compare pics of an AFR GENIII chamber to the L92. Will you see a measurable (more importantly SOTP) differance in the 2 head designs? IMO, my bet is you will. On a personal note... I am waiting (wishing more than anything else) on an L92 design for the lower intake on the Magnuson.
FWIW, apparantly there are examples of the L92 heads running on a 4" bore... with very desirable results. One thing is for certain... if you buy L92 heads from GM complete... then yes, a spring changeout would be in order for your expectations. Comp 918's are a good spring. With your power levels, and not knowing your ultimate cam specs, I might entertain a complete comp 921 spring kit. Caveat is I have not checked the 921's on the L92 for rocker clearance...

More food for thought

For springs you cant beat the patriot dual golds, they come with ti retainers too all for 250 bucks.

cam for sure is in my sig i already gave it to the builder, , i thought the 918's were good for .600 lift so is .586 cutting it to close?

Whichever heads you decide have your machinest check for coil bind. With the 918's you should be OK with .586 lift.
