I have a used stock crank I was gonna use as well, and I'm toying with the Eagle crank instead. I'm putting RHS proaction heads (66/236) and Diamond pistons...prob use eagle rods. Still have to pick valves springs, rollers and pins. Cam is custom 214/218 559/562 114 lobe (kinda lumpy ). Lemme know how u do as this is the set up that Maggie and Brian are so bullish on. I was thing of a 100 shot, but prob save it for a later date...
Good Luck! R/

The biggest issue for me is tranny. 4L60-65 is definately not gonna hold up reliably, so 4l80 conversion is the ticket. prob is that Speed-eng doesn't take phone calls, and I've read a few -ve threads about their products and service. Traded a few PM's with them, but they didin't go out of their way to increase my comfort level. I think I cana ssemble the majority of the parts with a little research and get my local tranny guy to do the rest of the work for better than half what speed wud charge....anyone with parts and part #'s pls feel free to chime in!

It probably just needs to be reset by disconnecting the battery.

Bringing up an oldie....

I was wondering what you guys think of the newer LS2/LQ9 rods?
Think they would hold a 370ci @ 12psi?

I have talked with some people who believe they will hold up well. The bolts are still the weak link, if stronger bolts are used it would be best to plastigage the bearings to make sure they stay within tolerance. The LS2 rods may limit the RPM more than the peak torque.

TurboGibbs put 15#s to them with ARP rod bolts. They are nice beefy rods.

ARP rod bolts would be used.
The setup I'm going with will be very similar to Turbo Gibbs. Minus the copper head gaskets.
