But I guess any brand will give out after a certain amount of time in those conditions. Maybe I will try and built a shield for the electric motor and just take it off during the winter.

Finished it! took a day and half with painting and everything. didnt end up painting my heads just cleaned them in the parts washer. everything went very well. no broken bolts, nothing fell into the engine, nothing.. Only thing is that my headers and y pipe didnt come. Texas speed was going to check yesterday if they got shipped out or not but i havnt heard from them yet. Still havent gotten the tune yet either so i ended up taking my dads duramax for the week.

It sounds really good even with the cats and stock manifold, through the full exhaust it lopes pretty hard untuned and i like it lol.

Valve train noise actually got quieter.

BUT oil pressure is a little low..... idle is around 20-25 and it tops around 40... I dont know what is causing this, i didnt mess with the oil pump or anything like that. I am going to do an oil change next weekend to see if it comes back up.

Also, the new valley cover has a vacuum hose on the front passenger side that came with a hose to connect it to, what looks like, the intake manifold behind the throttle body. Where is the best place to hook that up at?

Looks good!! Did you put a guage on it or just going off the dash guage.... 20-25 at idle is actually not bad...

didnt have time to put a guage on it so this is all from my dash guage.. going to do that this weekend. I am fairly certain its the sending unit though. It just seems low to me, i thought i remember my idle was around 30-35 before the swap.

Do you happen to know where i should connect that vacuum line thats on the valley pan? I just have it capped off right now.

been a while since ive actually seen one of those covers but either air intake or intake, but if you have the stock truck pcv hoses run just cap it off...

At a guess the stock dod/vvt cam and valve train likely help keep the oil pressure a tad higher. Now that they are gone you see a small drop. Removing the pressure relief in the oil pan will get you pressure back.

Just a few days ago a guy with a G8 on the HP Tuners forum asked the same thing, he only did a cam swap and said his oil pressure is exactly like yours now.
