if you are talking about the knock that you hear on a cold start there is a temporary fix that will last for a while and that is to pull the spark plugs out and go to a gm dealership and get two cans of top engine cleaner spray or pour which ever you can get in the cylinders the best and fill each cylinder with it and let it sit over night and the next day spin the engine over with the plugs out and the ignition disabled until all the fluid is out and then put the plugs back in and it will fix youre problem. i work at a gm dealership and that is what we have been doing to fix that problem

That is one way, but way too time consuming, no need to pull the plugs at all.

Go buy a can of sea foam, and slowly pour it down your brake booster line (attached to master cylinder) Your engine will bog down and die, let it sit for a while, start your truck and enjoy the smoke show.

This is one of the best ways to clean up the deposits in the engine
