I did not know that. Interesting way to increase fuel economy. I certainly noticed that extra .05mpg when it was running lower.

Yeah it can be annoying as hell. If you want to know if your vehicle has it look for a plastic ring around the battery cable near the battery (can be on positive or negative cable). That's an amperage sensor and comes on vehicles that have PWM alternators.

And your new truck absolutely does. If there's a problem, you'll get warning lights coming on.

I thought tow/haul eliminated the voltage fluctuations? I know my 2010 will hold over 14 volts constantly with it engaged even at idle. I think it is to compensate for trailer lights, electric brakes and keep trans shifting smoothly under load (keep voltage up to solenoids so they click on/off fast to avoid tie ups and excessive slippage).

Interesting, never heard of that. I have no idea if that is true or not though.

I ran tow/haul all weekend and noticed this phenomena so I’m going to say it doesn’t.
