Technically I could get a honda accord to pull 10k pounds.

But that's the whole point here, how well can I do that (will the drive line take it, will it damage it) and how safe will it be (can I actually stop it once I get it going and can I perform emergency maneuvers if needed)

Pulling anywhere near 10k with a half ton is not a wise plan in my opinion. Around 5k would be my limit. Can it be done? Yes.. but should it

I want to see a honda accord pull 10k. Without a frame swap.

LOL I guess you could cut a hole in the plastic bumper cover and weld a ball to the actual bumper.. it would probably still pull the back of the car off though

Yup. Half tons should only tow lawn mowers. This 6000lb trailer is keeping my truck in 4th gear going up and down the hill country trying to stay between 60-70mph and it’s no secret who the boss is between the truck and trailer.

But it is doing it and I don’t feel unsafe at all. Trailer brakes and tow haul are keeping everything in check. Coolant temps are 210* and trans temps are between 212-228*. When I get back from lunch I’m going to flip the ball so instead of a 2” drop it’ll be a 3/4” raise. Should help level the trailer out.

I stopped using my 4" drop hitch and just went to a straight hitch for me. With no helper bags, shitty, warn out stock leafs, and a 6" lift I was sagging so much it was not enjoyable. Went to the straight hitch and it leveled the trailer out but still squatted the truck a good amount. Makes me really want a better set of leafs and a set of helper bags.

Then again I really don't know if I want to put a set of helper bags on it because eventually I want to do long travel and probably won't do much towing with it at that point.

Are you using a WDH? It helps tremendously.
