Default Axle flip

Looking to drop the rear of my truck. I already have drop shackles and the blocks removed and it's still not level. I have never flipped axles before for dropping so I am confused on what kit I would need.

https://www.americantrucks.com/max-trac-75-rear-flip-lowering-kit-0718-sierra-1500-gmc.html

Would this kit lower the truck 7.5 plus the 3" it's already dropped? Or would it be 7.5" with my current drop? Would I need to install the blocks and stock shackles to get to 7.5"? Any help would be appreciated.

the data listed there is somewhat contradictory. It says its a 5" axle flip kit but it claims its a 7.5" drop.

Maybe somebody else with more experience will chime in. My only knowledge of it is the parts offered by mcgaughy's, They're flip kit consists of the 5" or 5.5" flip with either a 1" lift shackle or up to a 3" lowering shackle depending on if you want 4"-7" of drop. in the rear.

A 7.5 drop would be completely slammed on the ground for the most part and you'd have to cut the factory bump stock bracket off the frame and c-notch it.

If you just want to get to a 4-5in rear drop you'll need the flip kit and rear lift hanger bracket and maybe a rear lift shackle. Shorter shocks will probably be wanted or get shock extenders.

Reference this kit for a 2/4 drop, it shows what you need for the rear.

I looked at all their kits and the difference between this kit and their 4" kit is drop shackles. So I think if I were to buy they kit and use my drop shackles I would get the 4" drop I'm looking for.

thanks for your reply, I think I figured it out.

after 4" drop in the rear seems shocks replacement is preferred. So with the kit posted I would need these shocks

Just be advised that the flip kit plus your drop shackles is going to give you 7" or more of drop in the rear. Like FFDP said your going to need a C-notch if you want any type of travel on the rear, otherwise your axle will just about be hitting the frame with no load on suspension, then hitting a bump is going to be RUFF.

ok I got really confused, I see the difference now. The 7.5 kit doesn't have the lift brackets. The 3-4 kit does come with lift brackets and comes with shock extenders and 2" shackles.
