Default 2014 RCSB anyone do a sub install yet?

bonus is coming at the end of the month and im looking to throw some money at the truck.

soft bed cover
exhaust
remote start/ keyless entry since i bought the cheapest truck with a 5.3 and did not get either.

and this stereo blows.
i was thinking about adding one of these behind the passenger seat, since space behind the seats is terrible on the new single cabs
CP108LG-W3v3 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Systems - MicroSub

not sure where to pull a audio signal for the amp from if i stick with the factory stereo.

does anyone know how much stuff on the truck the factory stereo controls?(base stereo) not sure if its a good idea to replace the head unit with aftermarket.
i know when you **** with the ac ***** it tells you what you did on the screen and the obscenely loud door bond noise comes through the speakers.

Basically the screen is just that. All the modules are tucked away behind that screen.

im sure the ac and things will still function without the factory radio. you could probably pull signal from the kick panels, im sure there are speaker wires running into the doors that are tucked behind them.

Wire colors
LF blue=positive brown/blue=negative
LR geen=positive green/black=negative
RF yellow=positive yellow/black=negative
RR white=positive blue/black=negative.
if not behind the kick panels going into the doors they will be behind the radio. hope that helps

So safe to assume if I install a aftermarket head unit the aux input, sad slot and 2 USB ports in the console will all be gone?

there is an interface or whatever it's called on the market that allows you to use an aftermarket head unit and retain all of the factory functions. The head units control a lot of **** on the '14s

Geez. That all sounds like a pain compared to old school stereos in cars. Glad i am happy with mine. It does suck that gm decided to not allow for an upgraded stereo or screen/head unit on a single cab. I went and looked at a scsb lt Z71 loaded up. Three things turned me off. Cab is smaller than previous. Price was 41. Stereo in a 41k dollar truck sucked. Good luck with it!
