Default who here is at a crossroad?

Buy a new 014 or mod what you've got?

New 014 would only be a 6.2 for me.Just like my current 010 6.2 I wouldnt have bought it if it didnt come with a 3.73

before this truck was a 06 vmax, only bought this because it was the first time you could get a 6.0 1/2 ton 4x4 non AWD.

So spend a pile to get a new truck or spend a few grand and mod what I have......

Who here is at this same crossroad?

I have actually thought about selling my current truck and starting an older project. Modding brand new trucks is flipping expensive. Especially if you start breaking ****.

Although I absolutely love my current truck and had every intention of modding it I chose to leave it alone and find something else to play with. It made less and less sense to me to spend a lot of money to make a 5500 pound truck fast which at the end of the day isn't really that fast. Plus being my daily driver I didn't want to have to worry about breaking something and having the truck tied up. If I break something on my "toy" it's no biggie, I just push it into the corner and when expenses permit i fix it. Plus no warranty bullshit to worry about either. At the end of the day it's all about bang for the buck with me.

Hey Gonzo, you've been kinda quiet lately! I wouldn't try to decide that until I knew more about the '14 6.2, and I might even wait a year to find out how they perform in the real world. Not to mention how bad they break down in the real world with all that new technology in the motor.

Either way you decide to go, bring it on over to Woodburn again one of these days! Gonzo beat me - YouTube

Keep your current truck. Go buy a 2003 RCSB 4.8 2wd for under 5k and have fun spending 1/2 the money to make it go much faster.

Hey Phil
It will be interesting to see what the 014s 6.2s run like,Im with you might be best to wait a year for them to work out the kinks.

What could be the next year,8sp auto trans? more HP?you know they always leave a little something

Then again you know the NBS was a hit in 07 and no real kinks to work out.although it took till 09 to get a 6.2 in a non denali

I dont know guys....time will tell.

I am at a crossroads too, but it is what to buy next since I am getting close to 60k on my truck already.

I will probably get a new truck in the next 6 months or so. I hate to admit it here, but it may not be the new 2014 6.2...really depends on what kind of fuel mileage they get. I drive too many miles (3k+/month) to ignore the fuel economy.

I could end up with an ecoboost or dodge 1/2 ton diesel...really depends on the pricing on each and how I like the way they drive.

im thinking a interior redesign for 2015. is the direct injection going to be a problem with modding them. Superchargers will have to be redesigned. Im thinking tuners with just have to learn a few things about tuning them.
