For those who have ported their TBs themselves, any suggestions? I just bought a used 90mm for $60 and would like to port it myself. Recommendations? Maybe a how-to on youtube.

$60 90mm fell through. Turned out to be a 87mm. Anyone looking for a full stock truck intake of of a 2008 2500 6.0L with injectors, TB, rails, vaccum lines, gaskets and bolts PM me I have the guys number (wanted the TB till i found out it was a 87mm). Guy was asking $175 for everything I believe. I've got his number he would prolly be willing to ship and is negotiable on price.

I had a shop port an LS2 TB on my Vette and results were somewhat disappointing. Not much difference in throttle response (if any) and afterwards my idle speeds were inconsistant like it was searching. Months later I purchased a 90mm LS2 TB and had it ported by Tony Mamo, big difference in throttle response and no searching for idle speed. I'm sure many here have had good results with home port job but someone that does this as an art will get better results. You know where the money went every time you touch the go pedal and no issues. My expectations are "factory smooth" with no compromises. Fast, Cheap, Reliable....pick two (usually)

I ended up just buying a used ported 90mm. See how it does, I am concerned that I would need a retune with the ported 90mm. What do you guys think?

I bought a ported LS3/7 tb off ebay a few months back and I was very dissapointed in it. Felt like l lost hp/throttle response. Probably was a shitty job whoever did it, but I have my stock LS7 on there now and it's good enough for me. Unless it's done right, it will end up a paper weight.

I got mine off of a member not much details on it, but prices was right. We shall see what it looks like and does. I'm nervous about the tune though. Feel like it will need a retune from BB and if so I think I'll wait until i do cam and heads rather than tune it twice.

if you're just throwing the tb on there with zero tuning behind it, you won't see anything. there is tuning that needs to be done.

Thanks for the post, I figured as much and it would be best not to throw more air without adjusting fuel and such. I need to get a aeroforce gauge and pod so i can monitor stuff on the fly. Also need to get into the EFI live and start learning with that thing. Guess the TB can wait until i decide on what mods the truck gets next, likely heads and Cam and stick with N/A but there is a member with a turbo 6.2l build that got me wanting FI again. Either way stall should be next.
