When I started in business there were so many people that didn't have credit and needed help with Air Conditioning. I carried the note with terms on 11 jobs. 1 always paid on time. Another 2 eventually paid but late. 8 others either stopped paying or never payed anything. I know bad things happen and sometimes people can't fulfill their obligations but it was a hard lesson for me. I ALWAYS get a big deposit to cover ALL wholesale cost or they can go **** themselves because they ain't ******' me ever again. Sorry to hear Atomic.

Long story short, he insisted I ship on his fedex account. Made sure to make a set up and mail them on Saturday trying to help him out. He insists on shipping on his fedex account. Spent an hour at fedex because he couldnt come up with a good account number to ship on. Finally get one and send it. Month later get a letter from fedex saying I have to pay because he never paid his bill. I thought fedex would go after him because it was charged to his account, but fedex's policy is "the shipper is always ultimately responsible for shipping charges". So theres the lesson, never ship on someone elses account unless you really trust them, so basically never, and always get paid shipping up front.

 

Something similar happened to me with a JDM motor I bought, except they came after me for the additional money
