Alright, newb question. Say I have a 2004 LQ9. Say I wanted to order what was needed to put an LS9 cam in it. What do I need? I found the cam, and springs. What is the deal on the timing set? Can I do this? What timing set do I use? Thanks in advance.

The ls9 cam has a large split between the intake and exhaust durations that is well suited for the square port heads of the 6.2. Because of that, I don't think the ls9 cam is the best for an lq9 motor cuz it has cathedral port heads. Not saying it won't work, I just think there are better cams out there for your application.

Thanks guys, I'm sure there is better cams out there for more $$. But has anyone done it yet? It's cheap enough to try and fail at IMO haha. Worst case scenario, I buy valves for my L92 heads and bolt them on. I think it could be a neat little test. We have a chassis dyno at the shop, I could do a before and after, and we could see how good or how bad it is.
