Just saw your post now Jon. I didn't get a chance to drop it off at Grabiak before I left for Texas for 2 weeks so it's just been sitting in the garage all that time. I have an appointment there next Saturday with the tech who did the install... gonna take him for a ride and show him the problem myself.
There is another guy on GMFS who is 2/6 dropped claiming to have the same problem

So just heard back the dealer, tech thinks its one of 2 things. Either the cats rattling (not likely as it only happens under load). Or he said there was some play in the motor mounts.
Ok if its the motor mounts and the motor is rocking back and forth enough to cause this noise what hell could be causing a vibrating noise like this?
Kind of explains why the noise goes away in 4wd because the load is being split.

I was messing around the other day under my truck and noticed that the heat shield above the y-pipe is pretty close to the heat shield protecting the side of the tranny. I wonder if the engine can torque enough to cause them to touch?

Did they confirm the pinion angle is correct?
