Default Lowered 4x4 RCSBs

Ok I'm at 2/6 now, rear flip and hangers with trans spacer.
I got some pretty unpleasant grinding when accelerating from dead stop and punch it from a roll.... nothing at normal driving tho. I'm thinking drive shaft might be too far in the trans. Anyone else exp this on 4x4 rcsb?

Took the drive shaft out today and I think I'm going to get an inch cut off of it.

What are you guys doing to fix the pinion angles? I have the Belltech tranny spacer

put the frame on jack stands and work the rear end with a jack that will show you how much of your slip yoke is coming out vs your rust line. if the truck is on its own weight on the ground have someone jump in the bed to see how much goes in. if it doesnt move in at all then id cut some off.

So fast forward a little bit. Diagnosed all 3 problems that I thought it could be...

-driveshaft rubbing
-driveshaft pushing in to far to trans
-pinion angle

I knew the first time around the driveshaft wasn't rubbing because there were no score marks and there's plenty of clearance. As far as the pinion, it's off but not nearly enough to make this kind of noise. Lastly, got the driveshaft shortened an inch today, put it back in and still grinding.

Now I'm really getting worried, as soon as I roll in to the throttle and hit 2,000 rpms it makes this sound that's a cross between a grinding noise and something being turned on a lathe

I've contacted the dealership that did the install of the lowering kit and will wait to hear back from them. They're are a pretty reputable dealership that does all kinds of performance and lowering/lift kit installs.

I really hope this isn't my transmission on a truck with 7k miles....

Ummmm. It still spins...... Just not being powered....

Could you imagine a non spinning front driveshaft being engaged into 4x4 at 60mph.

Ok, let me rephrase... is not driven by the transfer case in 2wd.

I'll give it a look though, hell at this point I'd love for it not to have to go back to the dealer lol

Correct it just free spins, however its speed is still related to RPM so it could show as a drive train noise. It should have nothing to do with you lowering it though as front diff and trans are frame mounted and their position doesn't change regardless of what you do with the suspension. Front CV position changes.
