Not sure if the noise/resonance was from the mods to the air box/fender, or from the intake tube being replaced. Since I did both at the same time. There is some intake "noise", especially when you are WOT into the upper rpm.

I did the exact same thing on my 05 as pictured above by SLCviaAK. My 05 has an 08's airbox and I cut the fender to match it plus added an Airaid MIT. I added the MIT with my stock box first... which is quite a bit more restrictive. Going from my stock box to the modified 08 box I noticed an increase of noise at higher RPM and WOT. Otherwise though the truck sounds about the same as my 04, which is still bone stock.

^ Thanks for your feedback, SLCviaAK and 1994Vmax.
It’s surprising the engine noises now audible with new my hearing aids (seriously).
As long as it doesn’t whistle and fart around during light throttle operation, some extra music -and thrust- at high revs and WOT could be just what the doctor ordered!

GF: “I thought you told yourself this one would remain stock.”
Me: “Yeah, but I’ve been honest with everything I told you!”
Clean and noticeable SOTP upgrade, placebo effect and noise notwithstanding.
Will also massage the OE airbox soon…and then choose a tuner. :D
