Starting to look into the converter. I think since this is my daily driver that a 2600rpm stall (or close to that would be best). I think 3000-3200 will be too much.

Question: My transmission doesnt feel the greatest. Is it best to have the trans rebuilt at the same time? Maybe throw in a vette servo and a shift kit. I know if the trans grenades with a new converter in it then the new converter will be toast also.

Whats the scoop on the TBSS converter??
Can i buy a new one? used one? stall ratings?

Man Ive got a 13 gmc ext cab 6.2, with a tune and a cai it went the best of 8.96 in the 1/8, I put on some AR headers a couple of weeks ago and the best now is 9.13, ok I put some 22's on at the same time but the weight of the 22's were just 10lbs heaver than my stock 20's so I thought no big deal but now I wonder, any way kind of got off the subject but the truck feels stronger threw the midrange for sure with the headers but it's a turtle down low, long story short my vote is for the verter first, I would have done it first but got a deal on the headers, I think that with the verter the truck would pick up 2-3 tenths, sorry for the rambling. THANKS!

TBSS stall would be equal to stock. A trailblazer 4.2L stall is the one that can flash to around 2400-2800 depending on power level. It will be very lazy in your truck compared to the circle d 3200 stall which will drive 98% like stock until you mash on it then it will give you the performance you want. It is the best of both world.

Typical results swapping to a 3000stall will be around 1/2 to a full second in the 1/4 mile. Obviously a lot of other factors will make a difference. Either way I would recommend getting an aftermarket transmission cooler.

Can I still tow with a converter like this Circle D one in the link?

I pull an 8500lb utility trailer (when its fully loaded, 3000lb mostly empy) once every so often.

Yes as long as you keep your temps down using a good trans cooler it should be just fine. Keep an eye on temps and you should be fine if you keep it reasonable. Trucool 40k is a popular choice.
