Default Long tubes or torque converter?

Hey guys,

Basically a stock 08' Z71 RCSB with an MIT and drop in filter along with a custom street tune from Lew @ Diablew.

What's the next best step? Long tubes with Y-pipe or go to a converter? Also what converter would be best for my truck? 2600rpm stall?

If your looking for something economical, call up circle D and have them send you a an 11" 3200 rpm converter. I ran one in my old truck, and they have great street manners.

Then grab some pacesetter headers and y pipe.

Definitely stall first. 3000-3200.

If it were mine id save and do them both at the same time... on an 08 it could be a total pain in the dick to get your factory exhaust off without cutting it. I think it will be much less headache to get them both done at the same time.

What does a higher stall converter do in terms of improving launch and 60 foot times. Right now the truck moves out pretty good from a roll, but still crawls off the line.

A stall will eliminate the "crawl" off the line you described. When you stick your foot in it. The new converter will " flash" or jump up into the rpm rang and get you going. To answer your question I'd do a converter before long tubes because you will see greater gains from that. BUUUUUT I'd also save and wait and do converter long tubes and a custom tune to support those mods and get ready to say HELLO to a completely new feeling truck!!!
