Lifter Collapse Stories, anybody else got one?

2009 5.3's too. i have the dry start problem.. dry lifters i assume. OP did yours do this also.? cold start lifters making noise like they are sdry?

my 6.2 is going under the knife next week for "over aggressive lifters" WTF?!?!

yep, mines an 09 with the DOD.

And thanks Niff, I'm sure we will be providing food for the cam swap soon! I wouldnt think of doing it without having you and trey watch me over tightening stuff! lol, Trey knows what Im talking about! hahaha!

I just called and they said its gonna be tom at the soonest that it'll be done. I'm so tired of driving this poo poo malibu around!

We've had a huge rash of these coming in with dead cylinders because of collasped lifters. Always has been the DOD lifters though. The tick...tick noise and sometimes squealing has been the traditional lifter roller pitted and sometimes flat spotted that tears up the lobe on the cam.
They do have updated lifters for both of these concerns that have been on backorder.

so would it be safe to assume that they are probably putting the same lifters back in, since your saying the new style are on backorder?
